Food was barely warm. Yorkshire pudding cold. Messy counter, food spilt all over. Most of serving dishes were empty. Roast potatoes, cabbage & stuffing. I got the dregs of the cabbage & stuffing. Mint sauce bowl was empty.No-one around to refill.Complete waste of money. However Harry the young waiter was excellent, polite, friendly & very attentive.

Previous visits have been fine, however for a birthday meal on Saturday 1st March with a party of 7, the service was appalling.
The food took 59 minutes to appear, even then it was after I'd chased.
One of the meals was cold on arrival, and appeared to have been microwaved when it returned.
Having asked for the bill, I then had to chase the waitress to make payment.

We visited this Toby carvery previously for a carvery meal after a day out in Leeds and liked it, so being in Leeds again today, we decided to return.
On arrival, we were shown to a table. When the waitress took our order, we asked for carvery and refillable soft drinks. We were told that we could go up for the carvery when we were ready and she would bring our glasses.
We decided to wait for our glasses before queueing for the carvery. After about 10 minutes, we hadn't received our glasses and were looking for a waitress to ask about them.
Just as we were about to leave, Hannah was passing so I asked her how much longer it would be for our glasses and she said she would check. She seemed confused as she passed our table a couple of times before returning with our glasses.
We then got our drinks and carvery.
After our carvery, we were looking at the puddings on the menu when Hannah returned, so we asked what today's crumble and sponge were. Hannah said she thought the crumble was apple and the sponge usually had jam on it. She asked if we were ready to order but we wanted a bit more time. A couple of minutes later, Beth was passing so we asked her to confirm the sponge and crumble flavours. Beth said the sponge was a glazed sponge and the crumble was apple and plum.
My partner chose the crumble and I chose a cookie dough ice cream sundae. When Beth returned with the puddings, she told my partner that it was apple and blackberry and asked if it was still okay for her, my partner was still happy. I think it had been apple and plum through February and Beth had been so used to apple and plum, she'd not realised that the crumble had changed as today was 1st March.
All in all the food was nice, but the service problems let this Toby down today.
We shouldn't have been waiting over 10 minutes to get glasses so we could have a drink and the waiting staff should be told at the start of their shift, what the sponge and crumble are. Hannah could have easily gone into the kitchen to check rather than saying "I think it is apple" and "it usually has jam on it".

Won’t be coming here again no Yorkshire puddings at breakfast like all the others do . Sausages over cooked , eggs over cooked hard cold mushrooms basically bad all together definitely not coming here again waste of money

Really disappointed that they don't do a small serving for adults, i can't eat much at all and felt £11.99 for half a meal was way too much to spend! Will not be using Toby anymore...

Arrived, waited to be seated as we booked on line. No one came to us, in fact 2 female staff behind bar taking payment looked over saw us but ignored us. It was another customer who directed us to bar. Paid got cups for drink was unclean, handed back 2nd cup unclean 3rd was OK but hygiene needs to be better. Please retain staff on customer service and how to clean cups

The only thing that was good was the staff, you could tell they were working hard under pressure due to not having enough staff. Terrible experience.

Badly organised. The breakfast buffet was somewhat empty. Yes, it was busy as Toby were running a breakfast offer. Better organisation would have alleviated many of the problems. Staff not really effective.

Everything was great ! Staff and breakfast excellent ! It was quite busy but I believe the special offer attracted more customers. I have health issues and seating was an issue but the restaurant was extremely busy. Sat on a long bench, difficult getting in. No back support and felt I was going back quite a lot.

The food was acceptable but a bit short on the meat..ive seen tissue paper that was thicker and the portion given but I accept they need to make a profit..the service was better than expected so that's good, I'd go again but I'd ask for more meat..
